Update on the car

So, I still haven't gotten my car fixed, and it looks like it will probably be wednesday at the soonest.  The dealer still doesn't want to fix it.  But God is in control, and what He wants to happen will happen.  In other news my neighbors are crazy!!!!  (Yeah Haile and Stevie I'm talking about you!)

Life sucks, but God is good

Ok, so I talked with the guys at the car dealership, and they told me that they couldn't help me.  The salesman said that he wanted to help, but the best thing that he could do was give me the number of a buddy of his that was a mechanic who'd give me a deal.  So tomorrow I'm going to cal the Atterney General's office, and find out if I can legally get out of this deal, and then take this car back.  So we'll see what happens.

I guess that God is just trying to teach me that no matter what happens we should still praise Him because He is good.  We don't praise Him because of what He is doing, but because of Who He is and What He Has done.  God has saved my soul and I don't deserve that in any way what so ever.  So God is good and I will continue to praise Him!

So about my week...

(WARNING: This post is long!  If you don't want to read the whole thing, just read the last paragraph)

Ok, so this week has been really up and down.  So last Saturday, I found this car, and Monday I bought it.  It's a 2000 Saturn SL with 87k on it.  It's a manual, and it gets great gas millage!  They gave me a thousand for my Jimmy, and gave me a good deal on the car, so Monday night I was quite excited! Then came Tuesday...

So Tuesday it snowed, and when I say snowed I mean it snowed!  It dropped about 4 inches on top of the 5 inches that we already had on the ground.  So I worked from home, and that was an adventure.  After making several phone calls into the office, I was finally able to be semi-productive, Wednesday was a different story...

I wake up Wednesday morning, go out to my new car, and start it up and begin to clean off the car.  As I'm doing so, my roommie calls me to let me know that we are under a level 2 snow warning and that I should attempt the highway.  So after much thought, I decided to try to work from Panera because I knew I wouldn't get anything done if I worked from home.  Well, Seeing that there was about 9 inches of snow behind my back tire, and I have front wheel drive the car wouldn't move.  So I took the day off.   Thursday was normal, Friday was not so good...

So I get up, and go to start my car so that I can go to work...about that, I turned the key, it did nothing.  This is my  new car, the one that I just bought on Monday, the one that is not supposed to have any car problems, the one that is supposed to save me from the car problems that I was having with my previous car.  So my roommie let me borrow his truck (AGAIN) and I used it to get to work.  Work was frustrating, and afterwards I went to get my insurance worked out.  Well, since I was not driving my car, I didn't have the neccessary information like VIN number and such, so that I could be able to get my insurance.  So that was a waste of time, and while I was there my roommie calls to tell me that he needed the car for the night.  Well, I was supposed to meet up with Taboo, Michele T., Beth, Tiena, and Michelle L. to go skating so now I'm supper bummed.  Because of accidents, and going to the wrong place to pick up my roommie I was also late.

But it worked out, it turned out he was going to the same place so he offered me a ride.  Well, my car ended up starting, and so we took it instead. So today, I go to start the car to take it to Church, this time the key won't move the ignition.  So my ignition is shot.  So I'm going to have to get them to fix it, and fix it for free or I'm taking the car back.  So all in all, it's been a pretty frustrating week.

But God really got ahold of me tonight and showed me how selfish, and self-centered I have become.  Everything has revolved around me.  If something good happened, I was happy, if something bad happened,  I was mopping around.  I forgot that I still had something to be thankful for, the one thing that can never be taken away from me: my salvation and hope of a future in heaven.  I don't know what's going to happen with my car, but God does, and I know that whatever happens, it doesn't matter because He is in control and is going to work out everything.  I also know that even if life continues to suck, that it won't last forever.  One day I will be with the Lord in splender and I will be able to praise Him and enjoy Him forever!  What great day that will be!!!!!  So I guess I haven't had a bad week after all!  Sorry for the long rant, but it's been a while and I needed to get that off my chest.

Oooo: Cedarvillians, I have found the Cedarville edition of Teen Girl Squad, if you want it, let me know.

The return of fantastic mushrooms

Uhm, I'm not sure what that title will have to do with this post.  So here I am into my first Christmas season away from home.  It's wierd.  Yes, I will get to be home on Christmas, but only for a couple of days.

Work is going good, but it's been stressful lately.  I really like what I'm doing, and the people that I work with, so overall, I'm happy about it.

I've pretty much decided that this is going to be a pop corn post.

You know, it's been forever since I last had pop corn...

Uhm, the fact of the mater is, it's been so long since I last posted, that I've forgotten what I usually post about?  I think I'll write a christmas poem (Warning, I'm writing this as I go, it may be wierd as I am in one of those "interesting" moods)

Lots of ding dongs
A Christmas poem by
Rick Velilla

A log on the fire
Christmas music in my ears

Ok, so that one crashed and burned.  So I want to make a return to blogging, but I don't want to go with the old post about what I did today, because at the end of the day, who really cares about  the fact that I am absolutely hating IBM right now and think that DB2 is of the devil.  BTW, I'll give $2 to the first person (who is actualy my friend) who can tell me what DB2 is.  Also, I've never really been a big fan of those survey things, and I only ever did the the online personality quizes to evade homework.  Since I no longer have homework to evade, they just don't do it for me anymore.

So let me try something, leave me a comment and see what you think I blog about now that I'm 7 months out of Cedarville.  No cash prize to the winner, just kudos.  I'll blog about the best suggestion, and this can tell me who actualy still reads their subscriptions these days.  Ok, I'm off to have some pop corn, cause that did really sound good....

(Also, can anyone tell me how Xanga has had a rating system on the blog?)
